PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) is a dual-clutch transmission. After repairs or software updates, a calibration (adaptation / teach-in process) is required to ensure smooth shifting and proper clutch engagement. 📌 When Is PDK Calibration Required? After clutch replacement After mechatronic unit repair/replacement Harsh shifting or jerking on take-off Delay when shifting into R or D After PDK fluid service (if adaptations were reset) After TCU software update 🛠 Standard Calibration Procedure 1️⃣ Connect Diagnostic Tool Use PIWIS Tester Control Unit → PDK → Adaptation / Teach-In 2️⃣ Required Conditions Transmission oil temperature: approx. 30–60°C Stable battery voltage (use power supply support) Gear in P, brake pedal pressed 3️⃣ Run Adaptation Functions Clutch valve calibration Kiss point adaptation Gear actuator learning Drive position adaptation Follow the on-screen instructions: Shift between P → R → N → D as instructed Keep brake pedal applied Perform stationary and low-speed learning cycles 🚗 Road Adaptation (Driving Cycle) Some models (987.2 / 981 / 718) require a driving adaptation after static calibration: Smooth acceleration in 1st–3rd gear Gradual shifting up to 50–60 km/h Avoid aggressive acceleration Repeat several times ⚠️ Common Reasons for Calibration Failure Hydraulic pressure issues Excessive clutch wear Mechatronic solenoid malfunction Incorrect fluid level Low or unstable battery voltage #Porsche #PDK #PorschePDK #PDKCalibration #TransmissionRepair #DualClutch #Mechatronic #ClutchAdaptation #GearboxRepair #AutoRepair #MechanicLife #CarFix #NoReplacement #SaveYourGearbox
