This time, we will start from Lam Tin Station and enter the Service Connection Tunnel (SCT), which provided services from 1989 to 2002. This journey showcases the urban planning of the past when the Kwun Tong Line was rerouted, highlighting the evolution and development of the railway. Along the way, we will pass through the open section at Cha Kwo Ling and revisit the Eastern Harbour Crossing toll plaza. Then, we’ll fly through the Eastern Harbour Crossing (rail section), which has served as Hong Kong's second cross-Harbour line since its opening in 1989. Finally, we will make a stop at Quarry Bay Station. In addition to revisiting the old Kwun Tong Line: Cross-Harbour Section, you'll also get a glimpse of the maintenance team's works during the "Golden Two Hours" of non-traffic hour , where they maintain overhead cables, inspect tracks every 72 hours, and ensure tunnel cleanliness which ensures that trains operate on time and provide safe, reliable service. 💡This Service Connection Tunnel has not been used for regular passenger train service since the Tseung Kwan O Line was put into service in 2002 and is primarily for train captain training and maintenance access. #MTRUnexploredTour #OldKwunTongLine #CrossHarbouSection #EasternHarbourCrossing #MTR45thAnniversary #MTR45year #DroneView
