Talysh and Gilaki belong to the Caspian branch of Northwestern Iranian languages, which are primarily spoken in northern Iran and south-eastern Azerbaijan. In this video, we showcase some of the commonalities between them with Helen and Yasaman representing Gilaki, and Jeyhun and Kenul representing Talysh. The Gilaki language (گیلکی / Giləki) also belongs to the Northwestern branch of Iranian languages and is primarily spoken in Iran's Gilan Province.
