We welcome another Lahainaluna High School alum this season. Kalei Ducheneau has had a passion for cooking since childhood. He grew up with his Grandfather Solomon Pali, a cook at the Lahaina Broiler, and his mother, Lala Ducheneau cooking traditional Hawaiian dishes in their home. With this combination of influences, coupled with the experience he gained "on the line" at many of Maui's famous restaurants he soon found himself as Sous Chef to Chef Alvin Savella at Mala Ocean Tavern. Ducheaneau, a husband, and father that is driven by the love of good food can be found these days at his food truck FIYAH FOODS throughout the island of Maui. In addition to being one of our episode chefs, we were honored to have Chef Kalei running the Cooking Hawaiian Style kitchen for seasons 20 & 21.
