Group Dynamics: How is conflict managed in groups?

This is the twelfth lecture in a series of senior level undergraduate lectures on group dynamics that I created and have been teaching for many years. We all experience conflict in our daily lives in every social situation we encounter. Our individual goals inevitably will be different and in conflict with the goals of the people around us. How does this conflict typically unfold? What are the best strategies for mitigating and working through the conflict? We'll cover all of the conflict processes and discuss many of the research backed ways that have been shown to be best for reducing conflict and for building healthy structure for the relationships moving forward.
