In this walk, I visited one of Muntinlupa City's hidden slums in Brgy. Cupang, located along the shores of Laguna de Bay. This area, hidden from sight, reveals the harsh realities faced by its residents. The community is still recovering from the aftermath of Typhoon Carina, which left much of the area still flooded. Despite the water not subsiding, many residents have already returned to their homes. As I walked through the narrow, makeshift pathways, I encountered heartbreaking scenes—homes damaged by the typhoon, with owners unable to repair them due to a lack of funds. The bridge pathways, critical for daily movement, are in dire need of repair, with locals asking for help to secure materials. The resilience of the people here is remarkable, but the conditions they endure are truly difficult.
