Hi and welcome to Micks Mowers In this Video i will show you How to Fully Service a Mountfield HP41 Lawnmower To fully service your Mountfield HP41, begin by disconnecting the spark plug for safety. Remove any grass or debris from the mower deck, blade, and wheels. Tilt the mower with the carburetor facing up to avoid fuel spillage. 1. Blade Maintenance: Remove the blade using a socket wrench. Sharpen it with a file or replace if damaged. Reinstall securely. 2. Oil Change: Place the mower on a flat surface. Remove the oil filler cap and tilt the mower to drain old oil into a container. Refill with fresh SAE 30 lawnmower oil, checking the dipstick to avoid overfilling. 3. Air Filter: Remove the air filter cover. If it’s a foam filter, wash it in warm soapy water, dry thoroughly, and re-oil lightly before reinstalling. Replace if it's paper and dirty. 4. Spark Plug: Remove the spark plug with a spark plug socket. Clean the electrode or replace the plug if worn. Check the gap (usually 0.7-0.8mm) before refitting. 5. Fuel System: Empty old fuel and refill with fresh unleaded petrol. Clean the fuel cap and check for any leaks. 6. Cable and Handle Inspection: Check the drive cable and throttle cable for tension and wear. Lubricate moving parts like levers and wheel axles with light oil. Finally, reconnect the spark plug and start the mower. Listen for smooth operation and ensure the blade engages correctly.
