"Annotations 1" the first cut from "The Aporias of Futurism" the upcoming album by Andreas Gerth and Carl Oesterhelt is now available to stream and download. The complete 2xLP album in gatefold jackets is now in pre-order and ships on November 5 (or earlier). The Aporias of Futurism has its spirit storming inside the title. The album is an approach to experimental electronic music that poses a critical stance towards the advancement of music and technologies, or that at least questions the idea that all progress will always come to fruition, as Futurism would have it. For this reason, the 4 long pieces move away from standardized Futurism, from trouble-free music. Inspired by the spirit of classic Modernism at the beginning of the 20th century, along with some concrete historical references (such as the Milton, Blake, Cioran, Graves, Rulfo or the Roman ruins), this album departs tendencies in order to address beauty. It is in itself an abstract, beautiful score, which contains various ideologies within. An aporia through and through. buy 2xLP or digital here: http://umor-rex.org/ur133 All music composed by Andreas Gerth and Carl Oesterhelt between Berlin and Munich, Germany in 2021.
