Born in 1896, Azeem ul Mohsin was one of the greatest and most senior sozkhwans of Pakistan following Partition. He migrated from Agra in 1949 and resided in Khairpur until his death in 1982. He was renowned for his powerful voice, evident even towards the end of his life. While writing about sozkhwani in pre-Partition Agra, Makhmoor Akbarabadi mentions two names: Ustad Faiyaz Hussain Khan of the Agra gharana and Riyaz Ali - Azeem ul Mohsin’s father. Regarding the father, sozkhwans and appreciators of the art agreed that “God created Riyaz Ali’s voice for sozkhwani.” Those who had the fortune of witnessing Azeem ul Mohsin’s sozkhwani would undoubtedly say the same of the son. Recorded by Ali Ghazanfar Jaffery (Badshah Ali) and posted on the occasion of his 3rd death anniversary on 17 Rajab.
