Deputy Richard Thomas, with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, took the stand on Wednesday to discuss his body camera footage from the night he went to the murder scene of James Barron. He was allegedly shot and killed by his girlfriend, Suzanne Mericle. During cross-examination, he told the courtroom that he believed Mericle was trying to deceive them into thinking she was not responsible for his death.
