Ierapetra in Summer Lasithi Crete Greece 4K

Ierapetra is the 4th largest city in Crete and the largest city on the South coast of the island. The distance from Heraklion is 96 km and from Agios Nikolaos 35 km. Ierapetra is located on the south coast of the narrowest part of Crete, where it's only 12 km between north and south coast. The city is surrounded by fertile lowlands and so you can notice plenty of fields, farms and greenhouses around. At the background are massives of Dikti Mountains. The coast of Ierapetra offers several pebbly beaches. In the centre, there is Agios Andreas Beach and beach by port. These beaches are organized with beach sets for rent. Along the coast is pedestrian path surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. The eastern and western periphery parts have long pebbly beaches that are unorganized. Above the eastern beach is a promenade with tamarysk trees that provide natural shadow. The most impressive part of Ierapetra is the port with Venetian fortress, but in the city you can find some other sights such as Ottoman minaret and fountain, Napoleon's house and Archaeological Collection.
