Face iconic bosses, such as the battleship YAMATO and the airborne carrier AKAGI! P-47 II MD is an aftermarket game for the Sega Mega Drive developed and published in Japan by City Connection. It is an enhanced version of the Jaleco arcade shooter P-47: The Freedom Fighter, built upon The Freedom Star, an unreleased Mega Drive project based on the same arcade title. The Freedom Star was intended to be a conversion of the 1988 arcade game P-47: The Phantom Fighter (also known as P-47: The Freedom Fighter or P47 Thunderbolt) for the Sega Mega Drive. The game was reportedly close to completion and would have been Jaleco’s first title released for a Sega system, but it was ultimately postponed for unknown reasons and never released. Although the full game remained unreleased, its soundtrack was included in the 2015 album Super Rom Cassette Disc in Jaleco. Decades later, City Connection completed and officially released the project in Japan in March 2025 under the title P-47 II MD. .....................................
