It is a song very close to my heart as it is with most Kurds, and in our darkest hour it has always helped lift our spirits and unite as Kurds. Once again we find ourselves having to fight for freedom, so we need that spirit now more than ever. We are a nation of different religions and ethnicities and the lyrics of the national anthem celebrate that, in my opinion.
