Vlog 34: Hang Gliding at Eagle Rock Virginia (SE site) - Sunset (almost glass off) flight!

Eagle Rock is right outside of Roanoke Virginia and has two launch sites and landing zone for each. (NW and SE sites) It is considered an entry level friendly site. After flying both sites, I can say that yes, if you’ve had solid hill trainings and ideally have flown same level or even easier mountain site like Lookout before, I want to say it is a great site for novice pilots! I’m thinking, once I can fly more relaxed my flight should improve naturally. This was my first time flying the site, how it went was how I imagined it would have gone. In both NW and SE sites, I shed the altitudes by stay being pulled in a lot and often (meaning accelerating the speed). I need to go to the trim(neutral) speed more to check myself in the future. Hopefully I’ll have a vario by next time I visit the site, too. It was truly a magical time visiting the site, making new friends, and successful flights. Now I really wonder… What is it like to soar…..
