New Material: As Strong As Steel, As Light As Styrofoam!

A research group from Canada and South Korea have developed a new high-performance material. It is as strong as carbon steel and as light as polystyrene. This combination could enable ultra-lightweight components and thus save a lot of fuel. In aircraft, for example, up to 80 liters per year for every kilogram saved. And a passenger plane today often weighs several hundred tons.
