Artist says, Art is born within and in me it is born out of the restlessness which is the product of the disturbances, distances and the need for communication that I experience as a differently able person who cannot hear and who is also losing vision. I have traversed my creative journey during the last 4 decades using a figurative idiom that is rooted in my little world what I saw, what I feel and what I miss out as a hearing-impaired person, as I am able to compensate it with my imagination. I express my deepest feelings which I am unable to speak through words as everybody else, through the medium of my painting. That is the core of my creative journey. Through figurative compositions are his legacy from the beginning, more recently he concentrating on feminine forms. The females that live in him imagination and symbolic and are taken out of his life experiences. They are fragile yet strong, delicate powerful, symbols of feminine felicity. He observe the world around him in silence the women of his world emerge in fascinating forms. These surreal forms display body and spirit of womanhood in its simplicity, vulnerability and abandonment. The undulating lines of these female bodies are enhanced further with textural details using hatchings and lines tone on tone. The contrasting colors, and the interplay of textured forms against flat background evokes a sense of alienation and yearning. The lack of light and shade and three dimensionality gives the painting a surreal feeling. He honoured several awards in 1995 and 2000 Charles Wallace Trust, UK. 1997 and 1999 Fellowship of Vermont Studio Centre, USA. 2001 All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi. 2012 National Award for the Outstanding Creative Adult Persons with Disabilities, India. 2018 Travel Grant- Lalit Kala Akademi, Govt. of India. 2019 Art Heart Monsoon Art Camp, Kolwan, India and so many. #ArtistRamalingam #WorldArtsAndArtists --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Us : [email protected] fb.me/worldartsandartists +91 9840 607646 @whatsapp --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advertising Partner: Are you interested to learn drawing and painting professionally For More Details : 9944 341 414 / http://www.dessinacademy.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
