Some race cars are not part of the F1 line up, yet they sound like they should be. A great example is the Ford F3L, which is an endurance race car, fitted with a DFV V8 engine that makes it sound like an 80s F1 car. It’s hard to fathom, yet truly wonderful to witness. Over the years, quite a few non F1 cars powered by F1 engines showed up at Historic Racing events across Europe, each and every one of them sending chills down our spine because of the distinct sound they produced. That being said, many of the cars in this video use an actual F1 engine or one that is derived from an F1 unit. The Ford F3L uses a DFV, the bright green Lola races with a DFV as well. The Peugeot 905 uses a V10 F1 power unit also. Many others in this video were simply selected by us because we think they sound like a certain F1-era, which might not be the exact era of the race car itself. That is what makes this video topic interesting to us and, as said before, we'd love to hear your opinion on it! About "From The Archives": Back in December of 2012, HistoricRacingHD was formed.
