JF-17 Engine Future: Russia or China, What’s the Backup? || Islamabad Files In this V-log, Islamabad Files get into the factual realities of engines widely used since decades into Pak-China co-produced fighter jet JF-17 Thunder. Till now, JF-17 A Block-I, II and JF-17B aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) use the RD-93 engine, while since last four years, the JF-17C Block-III is equipped with the RD-93MA. Why Islamabad Files analyse the availability of engines to power Pakistan's premier fighter jet, the JF-17 Thunder? That's interesting query by the way, and it's because, India and some Western countries vigorously propagating Russian engine issues for JF-17 Thunders, especially when Pakistan getting huge infux of orders and interests in this war tested, reliable and powerful machine, named JF-17 Thunder. Islamabad Files notes that a jet aircraf engine, with higher thrust, electrical power, longer service life, reduced infrared/thermal signatures, enabling full-capacity of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, avionics and electronic-warfare operations. A genuine powerful engine shine performance, increase payload capacity, better high-altitude efficiency, improve energy retention especially during high-G maneuvers, and reduced radar cross section (RCS) and heat signatures. Islamabad Files also analyse that Russian supply concerns are largely political and driven by some adversaries including India; Pakistan receives engines via China, maintains sufficient spares, and PAC handles overhaul and life-extension locally. If supply is constrained, Pakistan has an open option and a reliable immediate alternative, now comparable to RD-93MA, currently under use, while engine availablity for PFX Fighter and potential local production under technology-transfer arrangements supporting long-term propulsion autonomy. #JF17 #JF17BlockIII #RD93MA #WS13E #PakistanAirForce #PakistanAeronauticalComplex #PLAAF #ChineseAirForce #PeoplesLiberationArmyAirForce #PAF #FighterJet #MilitaryAviation #DefenseAnalysis #AESA #EngineWars #PFX Aviation Technology #RadarCrossSection #Avionics #RD93MA #RD93Engine #ChinaPakistan #AirPower #RussiaEngine #RussianFederation #IndiaPropaganda Islamabad Files is an independent and impartial platform that provides audiences information and analysis, based on facts on topics such as wars, security, defense, tech and news from around the world.
