This is a play-through using Keith Storm in the PS1 game Fighter Maker. Read on below for more information... This is a play-through of Normal Mode using Keith Storm. There are no bosses or hidden characters in this game, what you see on the character select screen is the whole cast. ===== About Keith Storm ===== Gameplay-wise, he uses fast strikes, rolls and jabs... his martial art appears to be the Crane/Mantis/Tiger style, a bit like Lion Rafale, however it's more eliminator-based. His stated martial arts style is Kuk Sool Wan, which is a Korean hybrid martial art. Design-wise, he looks like a SWAT officer. Probably inspired by Doctrine Dark. I should also mention that out of all the times I've played through this game, I've NEVER faced this character as a CPU opponent (I've faced all the other characters at least once)... maybe it's just chance that I never fought him? He's also the last character on the row at the character select screen before the scroll repeats itself. ===== Additional Information ===== ---- The character's names are never referenced in the game. Instead, they are only referenced in the manual. ---- There are no normal jumps in this game. ---- On the character select screen, if you move the cursor to the left or right edges and try to move it off-screen, the character icon grid actually scrolls, revealing more characters. This is quite uncommon in commercial fighting games. ---- The Japanese version of the game is known as 3D Kakutou Tsukuru. ---- The game is made from the same developers who made 2D Fighter Maker (2DFM). ---- The game has one licensed character - Skullomania from the Street Fighter EX series. ===== About Fighter Maker ===== As the name of the game suggests, this is a customizable fighting game, which uses a set of regular characters as the "templates". I don't think you can actually design your own character from scratch, nor change the aesthetics of an existing character. Therefore, the customization is all about designing your own motions/animations for the characters, such as the stance, walking, dashes, hits, moves, throws, etc. The customization level of this game seems to be very deep indeed... when creating a new move you can set the hit points, adjust the limbs into all kinds of positions, set the camera angles and movements, set frame times, animation times, duration times, set the input command for the move, etc. You will need to spend time learning the customization feature and persevering with it if you want to use it properly. As someone from the MUGEN community, complex stuff like this is appreciated. If you ignore the customization aspect and treat it as a stand-alone fighting game, it's quite limited when it comes to "things to do". As mentioned earlier, there is no story, no protagonists, no villains, no bosses and no endings. The game focuses on the customization feature as it's main attraction. The general gameplay itself is solid. It's very playable and plays similarly to Kensei: Sacred Fist / Bugi. It should also be noted that the game clearly takes inspiration and references from a number of mainstream 3D fighters, such as Street Fighter EX, Tekken and Virtua Fighter. If you know your fighting games well, you should be able to see these references.
