I noticed something interesting while comparing the very beginning of different Unreal Gold speedruns, so I decided to take a closer look. In this video, I compare how many times the blinking light appears on the first screen before player movement begins in several runs (including my own). The footage is shown at 30% speed to make timing differences easier to see. The clips may be off by a frame or two, but the overall variation is still noticeable. This video is not an accusation or criticism of any runner. It’s simply a technical investigation and a curiosity about what might cause these differences — such as framerate settings, engine timing, Unreal.ini configuration, loading behavior, hardware differences, or streaming overhead.
