MIKE MAREEN. [ HERE COMES THE MUSIC ] (1979) Mike Mareen (born November 9, 1949 in Berlin , real Uwe-Michael Wischhof [ ) is a German pop singer and music producer . In the mid-1980s he had a few Italo Disco style hits . Uwe-Michael Wischhoff grew up in Lüneburg . As a drummer for the band Cemetery Institution, he performed at the Hamburg Star Club , among others . He later became a sailor and ended up in the United States , where he lived in New York for several years and played in a few bands. Back in Germany he took acting and piano lessons . In 1974, under the stage name Mike Mareen, the Schlager single Für dich fang ich a new life was released . Other releases followed, including 1976 's Mama Leone , which only became a hit two years later in the version sung by Bino . In 1982 Mareen founded the record label Night 'n' Day to help young artists get into the music business. In 1985, with the support of producers Chris J. Evans and Ironside, the Italian disco single Dancing in the Dark was released , which reached number 1 on the dance charts in 27 countries. The commercial breakthrough came in the summer of 1986 with the single Love Spy , which sold around 6.5 million copies worldwide. The song was in the top 20 of the German single charts and in the top 50 of the US hot dance charts. [3] In early 1987, the follow -up single Agent of Liberty entered the German Top 30. In addition to his singing career, Mareen also worked as a producer, e.g. for the Italian singer Silvano Pulignano (DJ's Project) and the Italo-Disco-Project, for the 4-time Sandbahn Speedway World Champion Egon Müller alias Amadeus Liszt as w
