CLASSIC PLYMOUTH BUSES

I grew up in Plymouth in the 1950s and was a great fan of the Corporation fleet of buses Buses had to be red and cream to be good! Western National were not in the same league to me even though they shared the routes as Plymouth Joint Services. On the city streets then were prewar Leyland TDs, Guy Arabs, Leyland PD1s and PD2s with Leyland and MCW bodies,and a few Crossley DDs. My favourites were the Guys and the all Leyland PD2s. It was good to see a range of these buses in one place at Winkley in 1993, Its a pity no Plymouth Guys have survived!
