Recorded at the last ever gig played by the Red Eye on the 27th November 1997, this, Broke and Hungry is a song written by Junior Wells from his 1990 album ‘Harp Attack’ which also featured fellow harmonica maestro James Cotton. It was also known as “the Countdown song” when requested at our gigs owing to its signature riff’s similarity to the programme’s anagram theme. The venue was The Beaten Track at the Castlefield end of Deansgate if you know Manchester. Like the band, it no longer exists. #redeyebluesband #livemusic #jontykeys #blues #liveband #juniorwells
