The Salzkammergut is an area of Austria I wanted to visit for a long time but it never really worked out - until now. And I have to say, I am disillusioned. It's a beautiful area nonetheless, but huge chunks of the lakes are privatised, rendering them almost inaccessible and thus the natural beauty gets lost to a few better set people.
