From dispersed camping to a truck breakdown, this solo camping adventure in the National Forest has it all. This week I headed up to the Chippewa National Forest to find a remote lakeside campsite. The weather is changing. Folks are finally able to stretch their legs after a long Minnesota winter. It shouldn't surprise me that the once empty forest campsites are now full. I have noticed over the years that the unknown gems of the forest are being discovered. Its great that people are enjoying nature and experiencing the same remote camping I love. I hope people can keep it clean. Last year one of my favorite dispersed locations was gated off because of an incredible amount of trash being left behind. Im seeing more and more signs at these dispersed campsites saying "NO DUMPING ALLOWED". Its sad that people need to be told not to drop off their garbage in these beautiful forests. All in all it was not a bad weekend. I was able to hang out with Toby and enjoy a gorgeous lake retreat. As far as the truck breakdowns......If i was not fixing my truck on the side of the road I would be at home fixing a different vehicle or working on a project around the house. I would rather be in the camper. Toby and I will see you again next week.
