Story time of my morning. As soon as I stepped outside with all that pollen swirling in the air, that torturous tickle in my nose started. I've been sneezing all morning now, and I'm still not sure if it's from the flowers I planted or all the trees and grasses in bloom. I may need to do some experimenting... Rolling over in bed, she coughed slightly before getting up. She rubbed her nose, coughing again, looking annoyed by the tickle building in her throat. She walked into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of coffee, sipping it slowly. Her nose was really beginning to itch. She rubbed it with the back of her hand, thinking nothing of it. Once she was finished with her coffee, she decided it would be a good time to water her garden. She had decided to start an herb garden months ago, planting tons of lavender, chamomile, daisies, and other flowers with medicinal properties. They were just beginning to bloom and would be ready to harvest soon. As Katie stepped outside, she took a moment to admire her garden. She inhaled deeply, taking in the sweet fragrance of lavender and daisies. For a moment, she smiled, admiring her work. But then, as if triggered by the very air she was enjoying, the tickle in her nose intensified. She paused, looking bewildered as her breath began hitching. As a gentle breeze began to blow, she could see all the pollen particles dancing around her, settling into her nostrils like tiny tickly intruders. Her breath quickened. The first sneeze erupted from her with an intensity that surprised even Katie. She let out a gasp of air, but this only caused the pollen to retreat deeper in her nose, causing the itching to intensify as her eyes began to water. She blinked back tears, rubbing her nose, trying to block out the pollen, but it was too late. The damage had been done. Her eyes widened in shock by what was happening, but before she could collect herself, another wave hit. Each sneeze was more powerful and itchy than the last, doing nothing to ease the tickling in her nose. She doubled over, gasping for air. The tickle morphed into a burning itch, radiating through her sinuses and making her eyes grow puffy and red. She could barely see through the haze of tears but was acutely aware of all the petals fluttering in the breeze, sending more pollen into her lungs. As the sneezing subsided momentarily, she managed to gasp for air, but the reprieve was short-lived. The itching in her nose flared up again, demanding attention. The fit returned with renewed vigor, Katie's body shaking violently with each sneeze. Each sneeze left her panting, cheeks flushed and damp with tears. Finally, as she leaned against a nearby tree for support, the fit began to fade, leaving her exhausted. She took a moment to collect herself, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand and sniffling. She quickly retreated back into the house, but the damage was done. For the rest of the day, she was sneezing every few minutes, unable to relieve the tickly itch in her nose that still lingered.
