Our starting place in exploring different kinds of prophetic ministries, is that the prophetic is sourced in the Person of the Holy Spirit. But that doesn’t make us uniform. Our God who created the snowflake and the fingerprint is endlessly creative. Paul writes in 1st Corinthians chapter 12, ‘There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them...’ (1 Cor 12:4 NIV) When we zoom out and take a broad view of prophetic ministry in Scripture, a whole spectrum of different types of prophetic gifts and ministries emerges.
