Pratika Rawal was born on 1 September 2000 in Delhi to Pradeep Rawal, a BCCI Level-II umpire, and Rajni Rawal. Supported by her brother Shashwat and parents, Pratika grew up in a family where cricket was more than just a game, it was a way of life. A bright student and natural athlete, she scored 92.5% in her board exams, studied psychology, and even won a gold medal in school basketball before choosing cricket full-time. Her father’s deep love for cricket inspired her path. When most girls quit early, Pratika trained with boys at Rohtak Road Gymkhana under coach Shravan Kumar. The teasing she faced only strengthened her determination. During lockdowns, her family built terrace nets so she could practice daily. After years of balancing academics and sport, she joined Delhi’s senior team in 2021–22. In her third match, she scored an unbeaten 161, followed by two more centuries. As captain of Delhi’s U-23 T20 side, she led with calm confidence before joining Railways and crossing 1,000 career runs. Pratika made her India debut in December 2024 against West Indies and impressed with scores of 76 and 68. At the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, she scored 308 runs, including a match-winning 122 against New Zealand. Though an ankle injury cut her tournament short, she remained with the team, attending the final in a wheelchair, proudly waving the tricolour as India lifted the trophy. Her story shows that true strength lies in perseverance, gratitude, and belief proving that every challenge can become a stepping stone. #PratikaRawal #ISHNews #WomenInBlue #IndianCricket #TeamIndia #WomenInSports #CricketChampion #DelhiCricketer #WorldCup2025 #CricketInspiration #SportsStory #CricketStar #WomenPower #Determination #HardWorkPaysOff #InspiringWomen ISH News broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment online in Deaf-friendly accessible formats which are in Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual images with titles, voice-over and closed-captions.
