Firstly, it carries out the tariff-change operation, and then, a little later on, the timeswitch operates the main load on the main 80A contact. In the morning, the 'OFF' operation switches BOTH of them off at the same time. Interesting stuff ! As like the Sangamo S250 synchro motor-powered clocks, this one does have the rotation-corrector for the motor, as synchro motors run on the alternation frequency of the supply, and as such, if the motor 'catches' the sine-wave at the wrong point at power-up, it will rotate the wrong direction, hence the rotation corrector. This works by temporarily 'jamming' the motor until it is 'in-sync' with the sine-wave, and then the motor starts to run in the correct direction. If however, the motor does catch the sinewave at the correct point at power-up, then rotation starts in the correct direction, and therefore on that occasion, the rotation corrector will not activate. At the end of the video, I place the clock mechanism back into the case and power-up again.....You'll see the synchro motor spinning around inside the workings.
