HERM ISLAND A popular destination for Guernsey residents & tourists, Herm Island is a picturesque bit of land about 20 minutes off the Guernsey mainland via a boat or the Guernsey Clipper. In this adventure, we took the boat & landed on Shell Beach before doing a few nature trails on our way to the Mermaid Tavern (one of Herm’s most notable establishments). We also took in the sights of Belvoir Bay, Fisherman’s Bay and even the old Chapel (which its surrounding cottages are now being used for holiday lettings). We also found time for a quick tour of the peaceful Zen Garden, which I recommend for anyone making the trip.
