THE CREAM OF THE CROP What can I say about Randy that hasn't been said before, he is without a doubt one of the greatest wrestlers ever. He was a world champion, had great technical skills, had phenomenal matches and classic feuds with many greats (Hogan, Steamboat, Flair, DDP...) Macho Man was always an incredible promo, but what set him apart from all of the screaming maniacs during the 80s was his intensity and that voice. One of the most recognizable voices in wrestling. So many compilations of fans and wrestlers imitating him. It made him one of the most famous wrestlers in the world, even if you didn't watch wrestling you knew that voice (thanks to Slim Jim). He had a brief but memorable run in Memphis (CWA). After his father's outlaw promotion ICW had folded, all of the Poffos went to Memphis. Savage teamed with his brother Lanny and they had matches with the Rock n Roll Express that were just incredible to watch. Fast paced and brutal (see that Piledriver on the table). Savage also had memorable feuds with Rick Rude and Austin Idol and of course with the King. After his loss in a 'Loser Leaves Town' match to Jerry Lawler in 1985, Savage left Memphis and went to WWF.
