Jesus tells a shocking story of a King who prepares an extravagant wedding feast for His Son, sends out invitations, and is met with indifference, rejection, and even violence. But the feast still goes on. The invitation is extended wider than expected, grace is greater than imagined, and yet the warning is just as real: indifference to God’s invitation leads to destruction, and entering the feast on our own terms is not enough. This sermon helps us wrestle with the tension of God’s grace and justice, the beauty of the open invitation to come, and the necessity of being clothed in the righteousness of Christ. In this message, we’re invited to ask: • Have I accepted the King’s invitation? • Am I still settling for the fields of work and toil instead of the joy of the feast? • Am I trying to come to God in my own righteousness instead of wearing the garment He provides? • Who around me needs to hear the invitation?
