This story led to a chain of events that involved lies, deception, people digging into his family's information to smear them as well as smearing Keaton himself with unverified information, and a number of fake scam accounts trying to cash in. In fact, one of the celebrities who reached out to help, Joe Schilling, might have been deceived by one of these fake opportunists.
