At Umsizi Sustainable Social Solutions, we believe that true empowerment comes from sustainable economic opportunities. Since 2016, our partnership with DRD Gold has been driving a livelihoods revolution, impacting thousands of lives across Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, and Merafong. 📌 Key Milestones: ✔️ Empowered 11,200+ participants through sustainable livelihood programmes ✔️ Built 750+ greenhouse tunnels, boosting food production and entrepreneurship ✔️ Transformed 42 communities, fostering new businesses and local economic growth We are proud that MEC Lebogang Maile from the Gauteng Department of Finance, MEC Ramokgopa from the Gauteng Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, and MEC Mazibuko from the Gauteng Department of Social Development have acknowledged the significant contribution of Umsizi-DRD Gold’s livelihoods and socio-economic programmes in developing thousands of households in communities across Gauteng. As we continue on this journey, we are in the process of facilitating collaborative partnerships with the Gauteng government to further expand, deepen, and scale the impact of our poverty alleviation, local economic development, and community development programmes. This is more than a project—it’s a movement! When communities are equipped with the right skills, sustainability becomes a reality.
