People in Jamaica had been forced to undergo an agonising wait for days ahead of Hurricane Melissa's arrival. But within it, strengthening and swirling winds and huge amounts of rainfall. By the time it properly hit a few hours ago, its high winds had already killed people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
