Police Press Note, November 6, 2025 Operation Takedown - Faridabad Police Action: Accused who shot a student on November 5th arrested by Crime Branch Sector 65. The accused fired at the police team while attempting to escape during the recovery of an illegal weapon. In retaliatory fire, the accused was shot in the leg. Incident occurred in Kabulpur village. Faridabad: On November 3rd, in the evening, a young man shot a 12th-grade student in Shyam Colony, Ballabhgarh, and fled the scene. A case was registered at Ballabhgarh City Police Station in this regard. Varun Kumar Dahiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime, stated during a press conference that four teams of the Crime Branch were directed to search for the accused. These teams made extensive efforts to locate the accused in various areas of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. Finally, the Crime Branch Sector 65 team was successful and arrested the accused, Jitendra alias Jatin, a resident of Sirmathla, Gurugram district, on November 5th. He further informed that during questioning, the accused Jitendra revealed that he possessed another illegal weapon, which he had hidden near Kabulpur village. The Crime Branch team took the accused to the Kabulpur area for identification and recovery of the weapon. While there, the accused suddenly pulled out the illegal weapon from a pile of stones and fired at the police team, attempting to escape. When ordered to stop, he fired at the police team again. In retaliatory fire, the accused was shot in the leg. He was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. A case has been registered against the accused, Jitendra alias Jatin, under sections related to attempted murder at Sector 58 Police Station. The accused's condition is stable. One country-made pistol, 4 live rounds, and 2 empty cartridges were recovered from the scene. The police spokesperson stated that the Honorable Director General of Police, Haryana, Shri O.P. Singh launched Operation Takedown from November 5 to 20, under which instructions were given to immediately search for and arrest the accused involved in firing incidents. Faridabad Police arrested the accused under *Operation Takedown*. Police Spokesperson
