What is hybrid vigor with Orchids + examples

By hybridization we not only obtained amazing colors and new patterns on orchids, we also obtained more vigorous hybrids in some cases. This vigor refers mainly to the adaptability of the orchid, its robustness and ease of care and flowering in not so ideal conditions. Some examples that I discovered along the way are Colmanara orchids, recently classified as Oncidiums, which doesn't help us identify them. Also Beallaras, given you need to get the basic care down (they do like their water). There are other examples of hybrids which, compared to the original species, perform much better. Not all hybrids are vigorous though, in some cases we obtained beautiful new flowers, but lost vigor.
