Nvidia GPU shortage expected to continue into 2022

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has said he expects Nvidia’s GPU supply shortage to continue into next year. Obtaining any new 30 series Nvidia GPU has proven difficult of late. Computer Chip supply issues have reached a “crisis point” globally, due to complications from the pandemic. Now, since so many have drastically changed their way of living as a result of the pandemic, demand for electronics that require computer chips has skyrocketed. Cryptocurrency mining, particularly Ethereum, has meant powerful Graphics Cards have been snapped up on release, combined with the global computer chip shortage, the situation shows no sign of improving in the immediate future. Whilst some claimed the Crypto bubble popped, it seems to be making a resurgence, with prices shooting up and mining becoming more and more viable again. Crypto is not the only culprit however, as the 30 series GPUs have proved incredibly popular with Gamers, many of whom are just waiting for their opportunity to snap up a card. This seems self-evident with Nvidia reporting recording revenues of $6.5 Billion, up 68% from the year prior.
