In this video I’ll show you how to make your own mods using the free-to-use programs Blender & GIMP. (note; any 2D- & 3D program will do. I just used Blender and GIMP because they are free, and most beginners start with these) This is a guide for complete beginners: People who have no prior experience using 3D-/2D programs to edit game files. I’ll be covering how to setup the 3D model, how to layer a 2D texture, how to change the texture and add/remove elements, how to add an overlay, and more. Basically I’ll be covering everything you need to get started in making your own reskin/retexture. I’ve done my best to cover as much as possible while at the same time describing the process while doing it, so it should be easy to follow along and learn these things for yourself. I’ve made this video after numerous requests, and because I haven’t been able to find any guides or tutorials to these programs that cover the most basic steps needed to make mods for Unreal Engine. Anything intermediate/advanced is covered in countless other guides and tutorials, so you won’t find any 3D sculpting, animation stuff or similar here. I’ve added time stamps to make it easier to navigate the guide and find the stuff you need. I hope this video will prove useful and help you on your modding journey! If I’ve messed something up, forgotten something or you just have feedback, please write it in the comments. There might be someone who can benefit from you’re questions/feedback/experience.
