Here is an excerpt from the concert of the El Camino College Studio Jazz Band performing Intermission Riff by Stan Kenton The original version of Intermission Riff by Stan Kenton was recorded on January 14, 1946, and is considered a classic in the big band jazz repertoire. This version opens with a piano solo by Kenton himself and features prominent tenor and alto saxophone solos. The piece was composed and arranged by Ray Wetzel and has remained a staple in Kenton’s discography.
