Pennsylvania native, Bryan Kohberger is being sentenced July 23 for the murder of four University of Idaho students in November 2022. During Wednesday's sentencing, Alivea Goncalves, sister of victim Kaylee Goncalves delivered a powerful statement to Kohberger and the courtroom. After more than two and a half years of legal proceedings and preparations for a capital murder trial, Kohberger changed his plea to avoid the death penalty. At a plea change hearing held earlier this month, Kohberger pleaded guilty to murdering Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves in their off-campus home near the University of Idaho. Kohberger was arrested at his parents home in Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
