Sometimes it just feels so good to go back and listen to John McCormack sing his signature song: I Hear You Calling Me. I can’t help it! Its just sooo good! There is a YouTube channel called “Irish Mike” and he is an excellent resource for learning any and all historical information having to do with John McCormack. It’s a treasure trove! Here is the link to his channel • John McCormack - I Hear You Calling M... McCormack recorded this song six times! Twice for Odeon in 1908, and 4 times for Victor: 1910, and this one in 1911, then the 1921 recording and 1927. This one is with the Victor Orchestra, while in 2 others he is accompanied by the piano —the first by the author of the Song (music) Charles Marshall and in 1927 by his long time accompanist Edwin Schneider. Lyrics by Harold Lake. Played here on a 1914 Victrola IX (brand new 3 years after he recorded this!) and played with a fine tone Burmese Color Needle (thorn). http://www.burmesecolourneedles.com/
