Turning Wood That Was Covered in Mold After Wrapped in Plastic for Weeks…

After having these two pieces of oak wrapped up in plastic for a few weeks and covered in mold, I figured it was finally time to turn them. The day before, I had turned another similar piece and it inspired me to share with y'all the process of turning these next two! When I know I won’t be able to turn a blank for a bit, wrapping up the wood in plastic wrap is one of my favorite ways to preserve the wood. I find that it works alot better than your typical greenwood sealer but the downside is that rather than letting the moisture from the wood escape, it traps it in the plastic causing mold growth which depending on how you look at that could be a good or bad thing!
