This is an instrumental cover of the song Never Let Me Down Again originally recorded by the band Depeche Mode in 1987. All instruments played by Travyss Drums. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Straight Out of a Funk – How this project came to life After posting hundreds of YouTube videos for 5 years straight, I found myself in a “musical funk”. For about 6 months, I didn’t pick up a pair of drumsticks or play any instrument. I was uninspired and somewhat tired of what I was doing musically, and tired of recording and editing video content. I’ve been into instrumental music a lot lately. It gives me a different perspective on music and decided to start a project of that nature. At first, my intention was to make a rhythm section instrumental album after buying a bass guitar (The last track, “The God That Failed”, is the first one I recorded. I intentionally left it as it was meant to be at first, that is, without guitars). I felt some songs could use guitars, so I added some to “Perfect Strangers”, and then considered adding keyboards to “Rock Me Amadeus”, an instrument that I didn’t plan to have on the album at all. So I bought a keyboard and decided to quit saying I can’t play that instrument and learned the synth parts on “Rock Me Amadeus”. After that, I challenged myself to learn “Obsession” and it snowballed quickly. The album title says it all. I was in a (musical) funk and that instrumental project pulled me straight out of it.
