Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager born on May 3, 1991, in London and raised in Milan. From a young age, he exhibited a deep faith and a strong devotion to the Eucharist, often spending time in adoration. Carlo was not only passionate about his religious beliefs but also had a keen interest in technology and computers. He became known for his skills in programming and web design, using these talents to create a website that cataloged Eucharistic miracles around the world, showcasing his love for the faith and desire to share it with others. Tragically, Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 15, and he passed away on October 12, 2006. Despite his young age, he faced his illness with remarkable courage and faith, often expressing his desire to offer his suffering for the Pope and the Church. Carlo Acutis was beatified on October 10, 2020, by Cardinal Agostino Vallini, who highlighted Carlo's life as a model of holiness for young people. His beatification was significant because he is considered a "patron saint of the internet," inspiring many to use digital technology for good. His life exemplifies how one can integrate faith with modern life, showing that holiness can be achieved in everyday activities, even in the digital realm.
