BHAKTAPUR, NEPAL: Casually exploring the streets of Bhaktapur, we find locals readying an animal sacrifice, leading a large goat into Bhairavnath temple in Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur proved to be one of our absolute favourite places in all of Nepal. The city is a living, breathing museum and so as you wander the streets, you can really feel the immense history and can soak in the strong Newari culture. Located only a short distance from Kathmandu, for us, it really is a must to spend some time here. Many people recommend an afternoon visit, but a few days is necessary if you genuinely want to experience the city properly and do it justice.
