Nick Reiner is maintaining his innocence as he faces serious charges in Los Angeles. During his Feb. 23 arraignment, the 32‑year‑old entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of first‑degree murder with a special circumstance of multiple murders, stemming from the December deaths of his parents, director Rob Reiner and filmmaker Michele Singer Reiner. According to MS Now reporters inside the courtroom, Nick appeared clean‑shaven, handcuffed, and wearing a brown jail smock as he stood before the judge. He was represented by public defender Kimberly Greene, who replaced his previous attorney Alan Jackson after Jackson stepped down from the case last month. Jackson—known for representing high‑profile clients—told reporters in January that he felt he had “no choice” but to withdraw. Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14. Nick was arrested later that day and formally charged on Dec. 16. At the time, District Attorney Nathan Hochman stated that Nick also faces a special allegation of personally using a deadly weapon, a knife. A preliminary hearing in Nick Reiner’s case is scheduled for April 29.
