VENICE, CA — Wednesday, November 5, 2025 — During a coordinated multi-agency cleanup operation along the Venice Beach Boardwalk on Wednesday, Los Angeles Police Officers issued a citation to longtime street performer Nathan Pin — widely known as “The Venice Piano Man” — for allegedly operating outside of his designated location. According to officers on scene, Pin was cited under Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 42.15, which governs vending, performing, and equipment placement inside marked performance boxes. The regulation prohibits individuals from placing objects beyond the boundaries of their assigned space or obstructing access areas between designated performer zones. Pin has performed at Venice Beach for more than 25 years. His upright piano — wheeled, hauled, and played along the boardwalk — has become part of the locale’s cultural fabric, drawing visitors who stop to listen or record videos of his improvised concert sets. Following the citation, cleanup teams resumed their scheduled homeless sweep and sanitation pass, which are conducted regularly along the boardwalk to maintain public accessibility and safety.
