Ep.45 [K-TREND] From Lee Sang-ryong to Oh Hee-ok : The Heroes of Korea’s 80th Year of Liberation As Korea marks the 80th anniversary of Liberation in 2025, commemorative events and projects are taking place across the country. Among them, the cities of Seoul and Gyeonggi-do are leading efforts to rediscover the forgotten heroes of independence. First, a special exhibition titled “Prime Minister Lee Sang-ryong and Imcheonggak” is being held at the Seoul Museum of History from August 5 to 31. Co-hosted by Seoul and Andong, the exhibition honors Lee Sang-ryong, the first Prime Minister of the Provisional Government and a spiritual leader of the independence movement. Meanwhile, in Gyeonggi-do Province, the grand finale of the “80 Independence Heroes of the Year” project will be unveiled on August 15, Liberation Day, at the province’s official celebration. The final tribute comes in the form of an original musical, featuring the stories of three courageous women freedom fighters. Now, let’s remember the names of the heroes we must never forget.
