Episode 4 of our South African Jazz Community Showcase series features legendary bass player & composer Carlo Mombelli and his new quartet line-up, with Marcus Wyatt (trumpet), Keenan Ahrends (guitar) and Ayanda Sikade on drums. The group showcases brand new material, composed by Carlo during the global lockdown - beautiful, moody & thoughtful music that is as joyous as it is profound. This episode is dedicated to Sandra Mombelli's parents Marie & Johan Viljoen, as well as Jovan Muthray, Shonisani Lethole, Jason Green, Vaughn Fransch & Samantha Pretorius. We have lost far too many good people this last year - let us continue to live, love and create in their honour.
